Concept: Industrial Soul, Social Heart
Description: Shaghaf (meaning "Passion") is designed to be more than just a coffee shop; it is a vibrant social anchor in Erbil. The project embraces a "refined industrial" aesthetic, stripping back the architecture to reveal raw textures while layering in warmth through lighting and furniture. It is a space built for the modern urbanite—dynamic, photogenic, and deeply welcoming.
Key Features:
Raw & Refined Contrast: We utilized a palette of exposed concrete and black metal to create an edgy, modern backdrop, which is softened by warm wood tones and plush seating.
Statement Ceiling: The exposed ductwork and mechanical systems are treated as design elements rather than hidden components, adding height and an authentic urban character to the space.
Ambient Zoning: The lighting design is crucial here; we used focused task lighting for tables and softer, diffused ambient light to create intimate pockets within the larger open plan, making it perfect for both work and social gatherings.
